Nurturing faith in the next generation is our passion. We want our kids to grow to love Jesus and live out his love in the world. From the Nursery care of our little ones, to welcoming kids in worship, to celebrating milestones in their lives, we seek to instill faith as an important value in our kids.
Through age appropriate teaching, we meet kids at their level and share the Bible in a way that they can connect to their everyday experiences. Explore our courses below.
Our Kids' Ministries are overseen by our Children's Minister, Gina Carlisle, and a team of volunteers. All our volunteers receive a background check and are trained in the Episcopal Church's Safe Church training. If you have questions, or want more information about these ministries contact her.

Godly Play
(Pre-K – 2nd Grade)
Every Sunday, Godly Play begins after our opening song at both our 9 & 11 a.m. services. Children Pre-K to 2nd Grade are dismissed to our Godly Play Room for a lesson, activity and prayer. The Godly Play curriculum is a Montessori based program with lots of props and hands on elements that allow the kids to enter into the Bible stories through play. The hope is that they aren't just "instructed" in the Bible, but experience God through the story. Godly Play sparks their creativity and imagination. The kids rejoin their families in the main service for Holy Communion. Children will be able to bring their work home along with a parent page to share what they’ve learned about most weeks.

Whirl
(3rd-5th Graders)
Designed for our 3rd-5th graders, Whirl focuses on learning the major stories of the Bible and beginning to apply them to life. Each session starts with a funny and entertaining video that helps kids relate to Scripture and some of the real-life topics, questions, and issues they will learn about in the Bible. Whirl encourages kids to explore their faith, respond to Scripture, and engage the text. Whirl happens during Sunday Worship service, like Godly Play, but only at our 11:00 a.m. service time. The kids leave after the opening song and return for Holy Communion.
Nursery Care
(Infants – 4 years)
Our mission is to support families in growing their child’s faith from the very beginning. Nursery care is available for infants through 4 year-olds in a caring and nurturing environment. Every week, children will enjoy reading a brief bible story, a prayer, and plenty of time to play with their friends or even make some artwork! There is a wide variety of toys and books in our nursery available to them.

Student Ministry
Our Student Ministry, made up of 6th to 12th graders, seeks to lay a foundation for mature adult disciples who will be lifelong followers of Jesus. This ministry focuses on building healthy authentic relationships and providing a community where youth grow to understand they are beloved as children of God.
Students meet each week during the school year on Wednesday evenings to share a meal, participate in team building activities, learn from Scripture and discuss in Sr. and Jr. High small groups. Student Ministries runs from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30ish.
Sunday mornings at 10am Students typically meet in the Student Ministry room for donuts and a Bible Study or another series.
The first Sunday of the month, Students meet with Matt for lunch after service. The third Sunday of the month, he meets with 3-5th grade for lunch and games for our "Jr. Youth Group." There are meetups and activities off campus throughout the year.

FAQ
Does my child have to go to the nursery/attend the children’s activities?
You are welcome to keep your child with you during the service if that is most comfortable for you! You will find that we are a very relaxed congregation and we are not bothered by the giggles or brief cries that come with our littlest members.
How do I check my child in/out of the nursery?
When you arrive at church, proceed to the check-in desk where you’ll receive a sticker for your child and for yourself with a corresponding number. Should your child need you during the service, you will be notified via a number flashing on the screen in the sanctuary. When it is time to checkout, you can head back to the nursery where the nursery care workers will make sure that the number on your parent sticker corresponds to the number on the child’s sticker.
How do I check my child in/out?
When you arrive at church, proceed to the check-in desk where you’ll be checked in by a volunteer. Your child will receive a sticker with their name and you can take some time to visit with other families before you take a seat in the sanctuary. Your child will remain with you at the beginning of the service before being dismissed to children’s activities and they will return after Prayers of the People.
What are the diaper/restroom policies in the nursery?
Nursery care workers are permitted to change diapers. If you would prefer to change your child’s diaper yourself, please let our nursery care workers know so they can notify you if your child needs a change. We keep a variety of diaper sizes in our nursery, but feel free to leave your child’s diaper bag with our staff if your child has specific diapering needs. There are also diaper changing stations in the men’s, women’s, and “for anyone” restroom. There is a restroom connected to the nursery. Staff are permitted to take children to the restroom upon the child’s request, but are never to close the restroom door while they are alone with the child. Children who are potty trained are encouraged to do as much as they can in the restroom for themselves, but workers will assist with clothing or hand washing as requested.
What are the restroom policies in Godly Play?
Godly Play volunteers will guide children to the restroom where they will wait outside until the child is finished and guide them back to the Godly Play room. Volunteers and staff will not enter the restroom alone with a child.
What are the restroom policies in Whirl?
Whirl volunteers will guide children to the restroom where they will wait outside until the child is finished and guide them back to the Whirl classroom. Volunteers and staff will not enter the restroom alone with a child.
What health precautions are taken?
We are happy to be able to provide a clean and healthy environment for all children and adults at Grace Church. For the health of everyone who attends Grace Church, sick children should not attend.
What steps are taken to ensure my child is safe at Grace Church?
Safety of all children at Grace Church is our number one priority. All staff and volunteers undergo a background check and Safe Church training.
What additional security policies are in place?
Our volunteers and staff have all been trained in how to respond to emergency situations. In the event of an evacuation, children will meet their families outside on the north side of the building with a staff member there to check stickers for the correct number.
